11/15/25 UPDATE: In the past few days, Parker's care needs have grown, and the Evans family is preparing their home so they can safely and comfortable support him. They are working on adding doors to their office to create a bedroom space downstairs, as well as converting their downstairs tub into a walk in shower for accessibility. A wheelchair and additional medical equipment were delivered this week, and all of these modifications will be SIGNIFICANT expenses.
Your support is ESSENTIAL in helping them meet these immediate, life-changing needs!
The Evans family is walking through every parent's greatest fear.
Less than a month has passed since their oldest son, 15-year-old Parker, was diagnosed with high-grade osteosarcoma — a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. This turned their world upside down in a single moment.
What they believed were normal growing pains became a life-changing reality no family is every prepared for.
Parker has already undergone surgery to place a port and has begun chemotherapy. The road ahead will be long, exhausting, and filled with challenges we can hardly imagine.
And yet, Parker is facing it with strength that can only come from God.
A Family Holding Tight to Faith
Ashley and Bryan are doing everything possible to hold their family together: showing up for Parker, holding space for his fears, comforting his younger brothers, Easton and Tripp, and trusting the Lord with every step ahead.
Ashley shared these words when they first received the diagnosis:
“God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers. What we thought were growing pains, possibly a ligament tear, turned out to be our worst nightmare. Our oldest son, Parker, has been diagnosed with high-grade Osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. Our world has been shaken, but we believe with all our hearts that God is right beside Parker and fighting this battle with him. We may not ever understand why, but we know that God is the ultimate healer. We trust that He will carry Parker and all of us through this difficult journey ahead.”
Why They Need Help Right Now
What many people don't see is the toll this battle takes on a family outside the hospital walls. Because of the intensity of Parker's treatment, Ashley and Bryan will often need to step away from work so they can be there for every appointment, every chemo session, and every middle-of-the-night moment when Parker needs them most. This means a significant loss of income, while at the same time many extra unplanned expenses.
Even with excellent Tricare coverage there are many expenses, large and small, the insurance doesn’t touch that will begin to pile up:
- Financial strain of Ashley being away from work
- Support for Easton and Tripp while their world shifts too
- Unexpected needs that come without warning
- Travel for constant hospital visits
- Meals and long days spent in waiting rooms
- Parking and hospital-related fees
- Travel and lodging during hospital stays
These pressures weigh heavily and pull Ashley and Bryan's focus away from the one thing that matters: helping Parker fight for his life.
How You Can Lift This Burden
The biggest reason behind this fundraiser is TO HELP THE EVANS FAMILY BREATHE...to give them space to focus on Parker's battle and ultimate healing, to make sure Easton and Tripp feel cared for and steady, and to help keep Ashley by Parker's side without worry of how they can make it through the month.
Your support, no matter the amount is a blessing.
If you’re not able to give financially, your prayers, encouragement, and shares mean more than you know. The Evans family feels every prayer spoken over them!
Parker’s battle will be long, but his faith is stronger. With your help, the Evans Family won't have to walk this valley alone.
“We truly believe this is just a part of Parker’s story, and that one day he will have a testimony bigger than we can ever imagine.”--Ashley Evans
