Support Park Place Market's Recovery Effort

Dear neighbors:

Less than 15 minutes after the tornado hit, many of you rushed to Park Place Market to help clean and board our shattered windows. In the past days, we have received countless visits, messages, and calls from you - we are eternally grateful.

Like for many of you, Friday was probably one of the worst days of our lives. Pershing was particularly devastated by the tornado. Unfortunately, in our case, we lost both our business and our home on Pershing.

Park Place Market opened as a small operation in September of 2024. Our goal was to turn the Pershing and DeBaliviere corner into a fun and safe place for our neighbors.

In our almost 9 months of operation, we believe we made very strong, successful progress and we were just starting to turn the corner around!

Park Place Market evolved from a small coffee shop to a full-service restaurant with expansion plans already moving ahead.

Many of you have come for coffee, wine, or one of our signature events. For some, this was a second home, and we got to spend so many happy memories together - recent graduations, birthdays, and celebrations - or even time to study, relax after a long day of work, or just chat about daily life.

In many ways, Park Place Market was a reflection of our own personalities but also a place where we hope you have felt a little piece of Manhattan in St. Louis.

Unfortunately, the tornado has brought our business to a sudden stop - we do not yet know if or when or how much support we will receive from public sources or insurance; however, we do know that these sources will take time to respond. As a small business with limited cash flow, we know the next few days are essential to ensure we have a chance of reopening when the moment comes. We have started this campaign to help cover our critical operational expenses to simply stay afloat.

Our business was becoming part of the community and we hope that with your support we can regain that lost momentum - be a pillar for the reconstruction of our neighborhood - and have some fun again!
