Help Lay Parady La to Rest & Help Our Family Fight for Answers

Our family is devastated by the sudden and tragic passing of our uncle, Parady La, on January 9, 2026, while in federal ICE custody in Philadelphia.

Parady was not just a name in a report. He was a father to a daughter currently in college, a devoted husband, a son, a brother, and an uncle who stepped in like a father to many of us who grew up without one. He was always there for our family — supportive, protective, and loving, even while carrying his own pain.

Parady came to the United States as a 2-year-old refugee after his family fled the Cambodian genocide. He was born in a refugee camp, and America was the only home he ever knew. Despite the trauma he endured and a long battle with addiction, he never stopped loving his family or trying to be there for us.

Parady was in ICE custody for only about 48 hours before he was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead. During that short time, he was suffering from severe withdrawal and repeatedly asked for medical help. He was vomiting and in distress for more than 24 hours. Despite this, public statements later released suggest he was receiving appropriate care and that everything was handled properly.

There are serious inconsistencies between what our family has been told, what witnesses have described, and what has been publicly stated. Because of these contradictions, we believe the official account does not fully or accurately reflect what happened in Parady’s final hours. We are seeking transparency, medical records, and accountability so the truth can come to light.

This fundraiser is to help cover:

Funeral and memorial expenses

Support for his daughter during this unimaginable loss

Legal and travel costs as we pursue answers

Our family’s fight to make sure this never happens to another family again

Parady was more than a headline. He was loved. He mattered. He deserved care, dignity, and honesty.

Please help our family lay him to rest and support our fight for answers and for change — so that no one else has to suffer and die in custody without proper medical care.

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers.
