We’re reaching out with heavy but hopeful hearts to ask for your help and prayers for our beloved papa, who is currently in the ICU after suffering a cardiac arrest last Wednesday, May 22, due to complications from diabetes and chronic kidney disease stage 5.

Papa has always been the heart of our family. A former OFW, a long-time pastor, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother — he’s the kind of person who makes everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. He’s the quiet strength behind so many of us — a steady voice of comfort, wisdom, and faith.

This past week has been the hardest we’ve ever faced. Seeing him unconscious, hooked up to machines, fighting for every breath — it’s something no family is ever truly prepared for. And yet, even in this fragile state, our papa is showing us what it means to fight and keep the faith.

Today, the doctors shared hopeful news: Papa is now breathing 75% on his own, with only 25% support from the ventilator. He has also undergone two dialysis sessions without any heart complications or chest pains — a huge relief and another step in the right direction. These small wins mean everything to us right now. They are signs that his body is slowly regaining strength.

He may still need to stay in the ICU for a few days and at least another week in the hospital. Each day brings critical care expenses — for ICU stay, dialysis, medications, and treatments — and while we’re doing everything we can as a family, we now find ourselves needing help beyond what we can carry alone.
