Hey everyone,

Our sweet Papa Joe and my mom rushed to the ER Friday morning because his at-home EKG readings were all over the place and he wasn’t feeling well. Doctors discovered he was experiencing a serious heart arrhythmia, and he had to undergo an emergency procedure to shock his heart back into a normal rhythm.

Thankfully the procedure was successful, but we also received a life-changing diagnosis: Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. This condition causes dangerously fast heart rhythms due to an abnormal electrical pathway in the heart.

To treat this, Papa Joe will need another procedure called catheter ablation, which can help correct the problem and hopefully prevent these episodes from happening again. Along with the upcoming procedure, he will also need physical therapy during recovery. Between emergency care, surgery, future medical procedures, therapy, and time away from work, the medical expenses are quickly adding up.
