What happened?

Panini hasn’t been able to walk properly, and it turns out she has a fracture on her right hind leg. She will need surgery to fully recover.

How did it happen?

On Saturday, July 5, I was walking when I saw a homeless man about to fall forwards. I got close to him to try to help catch or stabilize him, and instead, he fell backwards right on top of Panini. She is a 12-pound dachshund who got the full force of a grown, adult man. She is only 6 months old and doesn’t deserve to be in this much pain.
