Hi, I’m Pancake’s mama, Lydia. We adopted Pancake, a sweet young bearded dragon, from my friend Carmen’s reptile rescue non-profit The Reptile Room a few months ago.

In that time, my kids and partner and I have all grown to love our sweet Pancake so much. The Friday after Thanksgiving, Pancake developed a prolapse and had to be taken to a veterinary ER in Elk Grove and then transferred to the UC Davis animal hospital. She has a blockage in her stomach that likely caused the prolapse and will need a few days in the hospital and further procedures to correct the problem.

All of this is costing us a lot more than we have access to. At this point the total will likely exceed $5000. Because it’s the holidays and I still need to pay for gifts for my kids on top of all my normal bills, this is just way too much for us to handle on our own. We are hoping we can turn to our community to help us out. We want to be able to give Pancake the best possible chance to heal and stay here with us so she can live a long and healthy life.
