Support Pam's Fight Against Kidney Disease

Hi, my name is Pam and I am currently 53 years of age. I have been in a battle with kidney disease for over 30 years. I am on the national kidney list and I am requesting for a donor. My blood type is O. My kidneys have gotten worse over time. As of November of 2022, my kidney status entered into Stage 5 (Total kidney failure per medical which means that I must rely on a dialysis machine to live or until I go through the transplant process for a kidney donor and be a recipient).

As of March of 2023, I had Peritoneal surgery to prepare me for home dialysis and as I waited to heal from the surgery, I began to take dialysis classes in April 2023 to learn how to operate and follow the proper steps of Peritoneal dialysis. A lot to take in in a short period of time. May 31st, 2023 was my first day of dialysis. My anniversary of being my own nurse at home was May 31st, 2024. Other illnesses have risen since I started dialysis and I am going to the doctor every week plus still trying to work a little.

The medical bills have been rolling in because my insurance does not pay 100%. I am paying what I can on arrangements. I am trying to prepare myself for my care when I receive my kidney. I know there is a strong healthy one just for me out there.
