Hello, my name is Amie, and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a fervent hope.
My beloved wife, Pam, affectionately known as POZ, is facing the fight of her life. Pam has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Our journey has been a whirlwind of medical appointments, treatments, and immense emotional strain, but we are determined to keep fighting. I am writing this campaign to seek your support in this incredibly challenging time.
Pam and I have shared many wonderful years together, filled with love, laughter, and dreams for our future. She is not just my wife; she is my best friend, my confidant, and the light of my life. Anyone who knows Pam will tell you about her radiant smile, her boundless kindness, and her unwavering strength. Even now, as she battles these severe health conditions, her spirit remains unbroken, inspiring everyone around her.
Since Pam’s diagnosis on December 26, 2023, our lives have been turned upside down. Pam's condition has made it impossible for her to work, and I have taken on the role of her full-time caregiver. This means using up almost all my PTO and FMLA, which has put us under significant financial strain. Despite working evenings when Pam is asleep and doesn't require my care, the costs of her treatment are overwhelming.
We are fortunate to have full health insurance through my employer, but the out-of-pocket expenses and co-pays are substantial. The total estimated cost of Pam’s mastectomy alone is $28,000, with a co-pay of $1,800 before they will even schedule the surgery. I am doing everything I can to provide for Pam, but the financial burden is becoming too great to bear alone.
Our campaign goal is to raise $5,000 This amount will cover the following:
-Mastectomy Surgery: $1,800 co-pay -Additional Medical Treatments: Including chemotherapy, radiation, and medication
- Living Expenses: To help cover the costs while I take unpaid leave to care for Pam
