Support Pam Varney's Critical Health Journey
Hello! This is my sister, Pam Varney (Ellis). We haven't shared publicly with many people, but she has been very ill. She has been sick for quite some time and I believe possibly misdiagnosed... but that's another story. Back in early spring, she ended up in a Fort Wayne hospital. Her blood sugar was over 800, her kidneys had shut down, her pancreas was in distress, her heart was beating irregularly, and much more. She was in intensive care for some time and then finally released. Almost daily, she was back at the emergency room. She only worked a day or so whenever she felt a bit better. She was also sent to I.U. Health in Indy weekly for several weeks for a surgical procedure. The surgical team told her that they were only partially done and would require probably 6 more of these procedures... but she was so weak, we didn't know if she could handle any more. They opted for an open abdomen surgery where they could finish all that they needed to do and remove her gallbladder at the same time, which was a troublemaker in the very beginning of all of this. She ended up in the Indy hospital for 7 weeks. She was just moved to a nursing home in her hometown for rehab and then within a few days, she was sent back to Parkview in Fort Wayne with more problems.
Pam believes that this week is the of her FMLA, so she is at risk of losing her job. She just got her short-term disability approved and then immediately went on long-term, but she and Mike are struggling to keep their bills paid. Mike has had to take a lot of time off work for the trips to Indy, surgeries, etc. Their car was repossessed this morning. They need help.
Anyone that knows Pam loves her, and I'm sorry if you didn't know any of this was going on. There is a lot more to the story than I am able to write here. If you want more details, you can call or text me or send a message through Facebook.
Please consider helping her and Mike out. No amount is too small.
