I’m Linda Howard. I grew up in Abbs Valley VA, and attended Pocahontas High School. I was a nurse until I sustained a brain injury in a car accident. My love of helping people is what makes me happy. When my friend was recently diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, I was deeply concerned for her.
She too grew up in Abbs Valley and graduated from Pocahontas High School. The photo is of her, Pamela Sue Tabor.
Pam is the daughter of the late Calvin and Phyllis Tabor. She has one sister, Regina and one brother, Sam. Some people from the Pocahontas area are familiar with her uncle Bill Tabor, from the books he has written.
After the children were grown, Pam’s parents moved their family to Tennessee. This is where they made their home and Pam started her adult life. She remains there today.
She has served her community in law enforcement for 15 years, she was a firefighter for 10 years, she’s been a volunteer for the Red Cross, and she’s volunteered at the Library in Church Hill TN.
Pam is a resident of Church Hill TN, and enjoys walking around, taking photos of everything from clouds to bugs! She is an avid reader.
This girl and I played on our Women’s softball team years ago, and she was the best hitter I’ve ever seen! She was always so easy going-never hot headed!
She has a good heart, she came from a good family, and she dedicated her life to serving others. I’m asking for help for her during her time of need..,
Pam will be going through a major adjustment in a week, as she will be having surgery in TN.
She is scheduled for surgery for a double mastectomy to remove cancer from her body. I’m not sure she even realizes what she is facing! I’m not even sure if it’s actually hit her yet! She reluctantly agreed to let me do this fundraiser for her.
Pam has always been fiercely independent and although she does for others, she doesn’t like the idea of accepting help when she needs it. This is her time, and she needs it.
God bless you, anyone who can help her! She will not be able to do anything for some time. She is going to need help with everything! There will be no money coming in, and insurance is already showing her that it only covers some things. My faith is in the kindness of all who have known her, or met her, or worked alongside her. Even if you don’t know her, please follow your heart and help with whatever you can.
I will be giving updates on her surgery, and if you have any questions please reach out to me. Thank you so much!
