It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the sudden and tragic loss of Joel “Homer” Jundt, who passed away in a workplace accident at Waukesha Iron and Metal on Monday, February 9, 2026, where he had been a dedicated employee for 40 years.

This fundraiser was created by Christina Meinholz, the stepdaughter of Pam Sallmann, on behalf of Pam and Homer's family, with funds being managed through family to assist with immediate expenses and household needs during this difficult time.

Homer was more than a hardworking, loyal employee — he was a gentle soul, a steady presence, and Pam Sallmann’s devoted partner and closest companion. Pam and Homer had been together for over 23 years, though their story began much earlier. They first met when they were just 10 years old. What began as a childhood friendship evolved into a lifelong bond, forged on loyalty, laughter, and devotion. They built a life together rooted in love and unwavering support, and they were truly best friends.

Homer was Pam’s partner in every sense of the word. He cared for her, supported her, and carried the weight of providing for their home. Pam has been living with significant health challenges that has limited her ability to work. Homer was the breadwinner and the steady foundation of their life together. Now, Pam is facing not only the overwhelming grief of losing her best friend, but also the sudden financial uncertainty of how she will cover her mortgage, utilities, and daily expenses on her own.

If you feel moved to give — no amount is too small — your support will go directly toward helping Pam with her mortgage, household expenses, immediate living costs, and funeral arrangements. Every act of kindness-whether through a donation, a prayer, or sharing this page-helps carry Pam and Homer's family through this unimaginable time.

Most of all, your kindness will give Pam breathing room to begin healing. Homer gave 40 years of his life to his work and more than two decades of unwavering love to Pam. Now we are asking for the community to surround her with the same care he so freely gave. Thank you for your prayers, love, and any support you are able to offer. Please feel free to share this page.

With gratitude and love
