It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the sudden and tragic loss of Joel “Homer” Jundt, who passed away in a workplace accident at Waukesha Iron and Metal on Monday, February 9, 2026, where he had been a dedicated employee for 40 years.
Homer was more than a hardworking, loyal employee — he was a gentle soul, a steady presence, and the love of Pam Sallmann’s life. Pam and Homer had been together for over 23 years, though their story began much earlier. They first met when they were just 10 years old. What started as a childhood friendship grew into a lifelong bond built on loyalty, laughter, devotion, and true love in Pam's life. They were truly best friends.
Homer was Pam’s partner in every sense of the word. He cared for her, supported her, and carried the weight of providing for their home. Pam has been living with significant health challenges and has been on disability, unable to work. Homer was the breadwinner and the steady foundation of their life together. Now, Pam is facing not only the overwhelming grief of losing her best friend, but also the sudden financial uncertainty of how she will cover her mortgage, utilities, and daily expenses on her own.
If you are able to give — no amount is too small — your support will go directly toward helping Pam with her mortgage, household expenses, immediate living costs, and funeral arrangements.
Most of all, your kindness will give Pam breathing room to begin healing. Homer gave 40 years of his life to his work and more than two decades of unwavering love to Pam. Now we are asking for the community to surround her with the same care he so freely gave. Thank you for your prayers, love, and any support you are able to offer. Please feel free to share this page.
With gratitude and love
