My name is Paloma, and I’m a 25-year-old Latina trans woman living in New York City (originally from the Bay Area). After nearly a decade in this city—and two years into my transition—I’m finally taking a major step in my journey: I will be undergoing Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) and breast augmentation as a combined procedure 1 month from today.

New York has shaped me in ways I didn’t even think were possible. Coming from a low-income immigrant family, I never imagined I would have access to this kind of care. I’ve had so many moments where I didn’t know how I was going to make it—juggling school, work, and just trying to survive in this city while still holding onto who I knew I was inside.

But somehow, through all of it, I found community. People who saw me, supported me, and allowed me to grow into myself more fully. The path here hasn’t been easy, but it’s been filled with resilience, growth, and love.

My transition has always been something deeply personal and close to my heart. This next step is not just about appearance—it’s about alignment, safety, and the ability to move through the world with greater confidence and peace during such scary times. As a trans woman, being able to look in the mirror and truly recognize myself is something I’ve dreamed about since I was little.

I am hoping to raise $20,000 to cover the costs of surgery, caretaking, recovery, and emergency funds. Because I am undergoing a dual procedure, the healing process will be intense and will temporarily impact my ability to work and support myself through the summer.

I’ve been incredibly lucky to be surrounded by people who uplift and believe in me. If you’re able to give, share, or support in any way, it would mean more than I can put into words. This is one of the most important moments in my life, and I’m asking with an open heart for the same love and community that has carried me this far.
