With the generosity of the Midway Foundation, Friends of the NRA, and Palmyra Sportsmens and the countless hours of volunteers we were able to build the Palmyra International Shotgun Range in 2020. We were able to take that funding and build one of the best Olympic Shotgun Training facilities in the country. Palmyra International Shotgun Range has been at the forefront of nurturing talent and fostering excellence in the sport of Olympic Trap shooting since its inception. Our commitment to developing athletes for international competitions has yielded remarkable achievements, with our athletes securing positions on the SCTP International Team and the USA Shooting National Team. Their outstanding performances have resulted in the proud acquisition of Gold and Silver ISSF World Cup Medals in Shul, Germany, as well as an ISSF Bronze World Championship Medal in Osijek, Croatia.
In 2024, to further elevate our facilities and provide athletes with optimal training conditions, we envision transforming Palmyra's Bunker into a year-round facility. This ambitious endeavor entails enclosing the Pavilion and integrating heaters to ensure comfort and functionality regardless of the weather. By implementing these enhancements, we aim to offer athletes uninterrupted access to world-class training facilities, enabling them to hone their skills and achieve even greater success on the global stage.
The Midway Foundation, in their generosity and belief in the direction and success of PISR, once again has awarded a Range Improvement Grant for 50% of the $25,000.00 budget project. This leaves a $12,500.00 funding gap. We are asking for your support to help bridge this gap. With the generosity of the Midway Foundation and from friends of the sport we will take PISR to the next level to providing a year around training facility.
The enclosed Pavilion will serve as a versatile space conducive to training sessions, competitions, and events throughout the year. Equipped with heaters, athletes can practice in a comfortable environment, free from the constraints of seasonal weather fluctuations. This transformation will not only elevate the training experience for our current athletes but also attract aspiring talent from across the region, further solidifying Palmyra International Shotgun Range's status as a premier destination for Olympic Trap shooting.
We are excited about the prospect of enhancing Palmyra's Bunker into a year-round facility and are confident that this investment will yield significant dividends in terms of athlete development and the continued growth of the sport. With your support, we can turn this vision into reality and usher in a new era of excellence at Palmyra International Shotgun Range.
