Hi everyone!
We're the Palm BOT Squad, a super enthusiastic robotics team made up of curious, creative, and motivated kids aged 8-10, all from Central Palm Beach. We're thrilled to be kicking off an exciting season competing at the Explore level for the FIRST LEGO League – an amazing program that inspires young people to become future leaders and innovators in science and technology.
What is FIRST LEGO League?
It's so much more than just building robots! This program is a comprehensive LEGO robotics adventure that teaches kids critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and "gracious professionalism." Our team's young engineers will dive deep into STEM concepts as they design and build robots using the LEGO® Education SPIKE Essential kits.
At the Explore level, our Palm BOT Squad gets to participate in fun festivals where they showcase their innovative models and share what they've learned. This season, they'll be competing in four key areas:
Robotics Coding Tasks: Kids design and program a LEGO robot to complete themed tasks, really putting their engineering and programming skills to the test!
Robot Design: Teams are scored on how efficient, robust, and well-coded their robot is. It's all about smart design and effective execution.
Core Values: This is where they learn about teamwork, discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, and having fun! It teaches them to collaborate, solve problems creatively, and respect their peers.
Project: Every year, FIRST LEGO League releases a new Challenge based on a real-world scientific theme. For the 2025-2026 season, the theme is UNEARTHED℠, inspired by archaeology. Our team will "dig deeper" into discoveries, explore the past, uncover artifacts, trace their stories, and use this knowledge to develop innovative ideas for a better future.

Participating in FIRST LEGO League comes with expenses like registration fees, competition materials, team supplies, and potential travel costs. As a community team, we rely on the generosity of individuals and companies to make this incredible experience accessible to every child on our squad.
Your donation, no matter the size, will directly contribute to:
Registration Fees: Covering the cost for our team to officially participate in the FIRST LEGO League season.
Essential Equipment: Purchasing LEGO Education kits, programming software, and other necessary tools specific to the UNEARTHED℠ challenge.
Team Supplies: Providing materials for our team's innovation project, display boards for festivals, and team t-shirts to show our team spirit!
Meeting Location & Storage: Ensuring we have a safe and conducive space for our team to meet, build, and store our valuable equipment throughout the season.
Theme-Related Experiences: Funding educational presentations, speakers, and field trips that bring the UNEARTHED℠ theme to life, giving our young archaeologists and engineers real-world context and inspiration.
Mentorship and Coaching: Supporting our dedicated volunteer coaches who guide and inspire our young innovators every step of the way.
End-of-Season Team Celebration: Allowing us to recognize the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our team members with a well-deserved celebration.
