Her Story

Paisley is a bright, loving, joyful little girl who loves to dance, sing, cuddle her stuffed animals, and make everyone around her smile with a heart big enough to fill a room — but recently, our world turned upside down.

On June 20, 2025, our sweet girl started showing signs of not feeling well — her appetite disappeared and she started saying her body hurt which caused her to limp. After a series of appointments, blood tests, and painful uncertainty, our worst fear was brought to life: Paisley has leukemia.

The Journey

Since her diagnosis, Paisley has undergone countless medical procedures, including chemotherapy, spinal taps, bone marrow tests, scans, transfusions, and hospital stays. There have been moments of deep fear — but also incredible strength.

She’s faced every appointment with bravery that humbles us. But as her family, we’ve also faced mounting medical expenses that go far beyond what insurance can cover and unknowns. The treatment course will be over the span of two and a half years long.

Paisley has her good days, where little glimpses of her old self shine through. But more often now she’s just so tired and lacking of energy. Her white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelet counts are has been extremely low because of the chemotherapy.

We were warned that the steroids she’s currently taking will probably cause changes in sleeping habits, sudden mood swings, including unexpected bursts of anger or extreme emotions, which makes things even harder for her to understand and deal with. Hindside-she’s always thinking of food, where as before, it was a battle to get her to eat all her food.

As only being 4 years old, she is so alert and aware. She recently noticed her chipmunk cheeks and says things like, “My cheeks are big,” “my stomach is big” just out of the blue. And sometimes, she’ll suddenly ask things like, “Are people going to tease me when I lose my hair?” Little moments like that break your heart.

She has been limping because the leukemia is making her bones hurt when she walks. However, it has been improving little by little everyday from the chemotherapy. Paisley will also be going to physical therapy to help assist her walking and increase strength to her legs.

Type of leukemia: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (also known as ALL).
