My name is Kayla Cervantes, and I am reaching out on behalf of my cousin, Paige Marie Cowger, and our entire family as we navigate one of the hardest moments of our lives. Paige is currently fighting an aggressive form of cancer while also battling lupus, a severe kidney infection, and pneumonia. Her body has been through so much in such a short amount of time, and she is now on a ventilator in a coma‑like state as doctors work tirelessly to stabilize her.
Paige is only one person, but she means the world to so many. She is a daughter, a granddaughter, a cousin, a friend, someone whose presence brings warmth, humor, and light into every room. Seeing her in this condition has been heartbreaking for all of us, especially her parents and grandparents, who have been traveling back and forth to Lincoln, NE every day to be by her side.
As you can imagine, the emotional toll is overwhelming, but the financial strain is becoming just as heavy. Between hospital bills, hotel stays, meals away from home, gas, and the constant need to be present for Paige, expenses are piling up quickly and unfortunately funeral costs are another factor that is to be considered. Her family has had to miss work to remain with her, and although they would never ask for help themselves, the reality is that they are carrying more than anyone should have to bear alone.
We are not expecting anything from anyone, truly. But for those who feel moved to help, even the smallest donation can make a meaningful difference. Your support will go directly toward easing the financial burden on Paige’s immediate family so they can focus on what matters most: being with her, advocating for her, and making sure she is as comfortable as possible during this fight.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping Paige in your thoughts and prayers means more than you know. Our family is deeply grateful for every bit of kindness, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to read Paige’s story and for holding her in your heart.
Donations will be given to Paige's parents Michelle Alger and Jerry Weston.
