At 18 weeks pregnant, Paige Temple found out that her unborn baby, Lake, has multiple heart complications. He has an incredibly rare condition called Double Inlet Left Ventricle. On top of this, he also has Transposition of the Great Arteries and a Small Aorta. Due to these complications, Lake will need three major surgeries. The first surgery will be in the first week of life. He will then need the next at 3-6 months and the last when he is between 3-6 years old. Paige will have to deliver at UAB Hospital due to the complexity of the birth and everything that will ensue after. During this time, Paige will not be working and will only have 60% of her normal income. Her husband, Gavin, will be there as well and will be out of work for at least six weeks. Unfortunately, Gavin will NOT receive a paycheck during his leave. Paige and Gavin have remained optimistic and faithful to God throughout the entire journey.
