At just 27, I never imagined I'd be fighting for my life- or that my mom and I would be battling cancer at the same time. I'm fighting leukemia that's spread to my brain, while my mom continues her own fight against breast cancer.
Hi everyone, my name is Paige and I'm 27yrs old. On September 29, 2025, I heard the words I never thought I'd hear-"you have leukemia." I was diagnosed with mixed phenotype leukemia with CNS involvement, which means the cancer is not only in my blood but also in my brain and spinal fluid.
Just a few months before my diagnosis, in March 2025 my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments, at the time, I choose to move back home to support her financially and emotionally. I worked as much as I could to help her, pushing through the fatigue, headaches, and strange symptoms I was having- I thought they were just from exhaustion and stress. I never imagined that I was also battling cancer myself.
After my diagnosis, I was immediately started on aggressive chemotherapy. My treatments includes frequent spinal taps where the doctors collect spinal fluid and inject chemotherapy directly into my spine. After each procedure, I have to lie flat for 24 hours tp prevent severe headaches, nausea, body pressure, and other painful side effects. In addition, I take daily chemotherapy pills and a long list of other medications. It's overwhelming- physically, emotionally, and financially.
The cost of constant hospitalization, treatments, medications, co-pays, and doctors appointment has quickly become more than I can manage. Between my illness and my mom's our family's financial situation has become extremely difficult. I'm doing everything I can do to stay strong, but right now, we need help.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Medical bills and co-pays
Medication cost
Transportation to and from treatments
Living expenses during times I'm unable to work
Support for my mom's continued cancer care
This journey has been incredible hard so far, but I'm determined to keep fighting- for myself, my mom, sister and my Love. Knowing that there are people out there who cares- even people I've never met- gives me strength on the days I need it most. Every donation, prayers and message of support means more than I can put into words.
If you can't donate, please share my story or keep us in your prayers. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Your support truly means the world to me.
Paige
