On Friday, November 7th, the world changed forever.

A dear friend Toby Pattridge tragically lost his life while preparing and gearing up for opening day of hunting season in Unit 18 near Grand Lake, Colorado. In the early hours of the morning, a group of hunters discovered Toby underneath his ATV with the machine still running. We are still awaiting autopsy results, but what we know for certain is that Toby was taken suddenly, and far too soon.

Toby leaves behind the love of his life, teenage sweetheart and soulmate, Paige Paglia, who is now facing the unimaginable.

Toby and Paige ran German Auto of Boulder, CO together. This was their shared dream, their livelihood, and a business shaped by their combined hard work and passion. Toby was the heart of the shop- the master mechanic, the problem-solver, the hands that turned wrenches and kept customers on the road. Paige handled everything else from the scheduling, operations, customers, paperwork, and the countless behind-the-scenes tasks that kept the business running.

They ran German Auto as a team.

They built their life as a team.

And now, that team has been split apart.

Because German Auto relied on Toby’s unique skill, knowledge, and mastery, Paige cannot continue the business without him. In the middle of grieving the love of her life, she is now confronted with the overwhelming financial reality of losing not just her partner, but their entire source of income and their business that they nurtured together every single day.

Paige didn’t just lose her soulmate.

She lost her future as she knew it.
