Support Paco's Life-Saving Surgery

Three years ago, on April 6th, 2021, I had the privilege of adopting Paco, a sweet pug, from Pug Nation LA. Before he became part of our family, Paco was known as Burrito, and he had a rough start in life before being rescued by this amazing organization. Despite the challenges he’s faced, being half-hairless, battling severe allergies, and having limited sight and hearing, Paco has never let these obstacles dim his silly, playful spirit. He quickly became a cherished member of our family, bringing endless love and laughter into our lives.
Recently, during a routine visit to the vet, we received some heartbreaking news. A mass the size of a softball was discovered in Paco’s abdomen, and the vet suspects it may be connected to his spleen. There’s a chance it could be cancer, and the thought of losing Paco to this illness is more than I can bear. Tomorrow, on August 29th, 2024, we’re taking him to a specialist to determine the best course of action.
The doctors have told us that if Paco doesn’t undergo surgery, he might only have a month left with us. However, with surgery, he could have another 6 to 12 months. This decision is incredibly difficult, but we want to ensure Paco is as comfortable as possible, whatever the outcome.
The surgery Paco may need is estimated to cost between $8,000 and $10,000, an amount that, despite my deepest desire to help him, is beyond my financial reach. I’m committed to doing whatever it takes to give Paco the best chance at a happy and healthy life, and that’s why I’m reaching out to you, my friends, family, and compassionate strangers.
Any amount you can contribute will help us move closer to providing Paco with the care he needs. Your kindness and generosity, whether through a donation or by sharing Paco’s story, mean the world to us. If Paco doesn’t make it, please know that any leftover funds will be donated to help other dogs in need, so your contribution will still make a difference.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us in this challenging time. Your support will give Paco the chance to continue bringing happiness into our lives for as long as possible.
**Update:** Thanks to a friend’s referral, we found a not only highly recommended but a more affordable vet who confirmed that surgery is the only option to save Paco’s life. He is scheduled for surgery on August 29th, 2024. We’re hopeful this will give him more time with us. Your continued support means the world to us.
