Support Paco's Fight Against Illness

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Claudia, and I’ve created this GoFundMe for my sister Isabel and her sweet companion, Paco. They mean the world to each other, and right now, Paco needs our help. If you take a moment to read below, you’ll understand the situation and why your support could make such a big difference.

“On April 6th, 2021, I adopted Paco (formerly Burrito) from Pug Nation. This Sunday marks four years together. He’s been with me through so much, and I’ve done my best to give him the care and love he’s always deserved. Yesterday, April 3rd, Paco started having serious trouble breathing. After rushing him to the vet for x-rays and lab work, we were told he had fluid in his lungs.

He was taken into emergency care, where they were able to drain the fluid and give him temporary relief. The vet believes it is most likely cancer, but we won’t have a definite answer until we get the lab results, possibly by tomorrow or Monday. Right now, Paco is home with me, resting, but I can already tell the fluid is starting to build up again. His breathing is becoming more labored, just as the vet warned. This is something that will continue happening without treatment, and sadly, I was told the next step may be euthanasia if I cannot afford ongoing care.

I’ve already spent everything I had to get him through yesterday’s emergency visit. I contacted the rescue I adopted him from, but unfortunately, they’re unable to help. I’m now facing the heartbreaking possibility that the only way Paco might get the care he needs is if I surrender him, and that thought is devastating.

Paco has been through so much. Last August he had a mass the size of a softball removed along with his spleen. He’s dealt with chronic allergies, skin issues, and now, due to age, he is deaf and blind. Despite it all, he has never stopped being a sweet, gentle companion who just wants to be close and feel safe. I’m creating this fundraiser in hopes of giving Paco more time, or at the very least, making sure that whatever time he has left is comfortable, peaceful, and full of love.

Any funds raised will go directly to his care. If, in the end, we cannot continue treatment, I will make sure he is not in pain. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for any support you’re able to give. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
