Dear friends, supporters, and kind-hearted strangers,
My name is Makhkam Khamidov, and I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin, Oydinoy Ravshanova, an incredibly dedicated and talented young scientist pursuing her PhD in Chemistry in Uzbekistan. Here is her message:
My name is Oydinoy Ravshanova, and I come from a humble corner of Uzbekistan — a land of beauty, history, and resilience. Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of doing something meaningful for my people, for our land, for our future.
Today, I am chasing that dream through science.
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Chemistry, conducting research on using local vermiculite minerals to purify wastewater in a natural, low-cost, and environmentally friendly way. In regions like mine, where many still lack access to clean water, this is not just science — it is a lifeline.
But science needs support. And I cannot do this alone.
Why I Need Your Help
Scientific research is beautiful, but it is expensive — especially for a young woman working in a developing country. Despite all challenges, I’ve come this far with faith, courage, and sleepless nights.
Now, I am turning to you, kind hearts around the world, because:
I need funds for laboratory materials and equipment
I need to test and publish results that can help not just my country, but others too
I need to build a small pilot system to prove that local solutions do work
That’s why I am humbly asking for your support. My goal is to raise $30,000 — not for luxury, but for learning, for progress, for hope.
This Is Bigger Than Me
This isn’t just my journey — this is a mission for clean water, for sustainable development, and for giving science a chance in places where it’s often overlooked.
Every drop of water matters.
Every kind donation brings us one step closer to a cleaner future.
Every act of generosity writes a new page in the story of hope.
If you’ve ever believed that one person can make a difference, please believe in me.
From the bottom of my heart,
Thank you.
With hope and gratitude,
Oydinoy Ravshanova
PhD Candidate in Chemistry
