I am raising money for my 17-year-old cat Owl.

What happened

In the last few months, I found a growth in her mouth. After following up with the vet, we concluded the growth in her mouth is a tumor. At this time, it’s impossible to know if its cancerous or benign.

The next step is to conclude if its cancerous or benign would be to remove the tumor and biopsy the growth. There is a good chance its cancerous and oral cancer in cats is quite aggressive.

However, the tumor (as far as tumors go) is located in “good” position (not on the bone/cheek) and has tissue around it. The placement of the tumor would allow for a removal and biopsy that would not maim her and allow her to continue a quality of life.

Once the tumor is removed the can send the growth for biopsy to find out if it’s cancerous and make a cat cancer vaccine shot (wild that this exists???). There are a few risk factors involved with her age, kidney disease and heart murmur among other things but overall, she still has her spirit despite her age.

17 years ago, I found Owl as a kitten in an animal shelter. How fortunate and unlikely to find a Scottish fold in a shelter. She was thrown away by a breeder for unknown reasons.

Where the money goes
