My name is Owen Erdman, I am a first-year student at Brown University, and I’m ecstatic to share that this summer I will be representing Team USA in the U20 Open division at the 2026 World Ultimate Club Championships in Logroño, Spain.
My love for ultimate frisbee began in 9th grade, when I was introduced to our team at Masterman, a Philadelphia public school. As my passion for the sport grew over the next few years, it led me to the position of team captain, culminating in a Pennsylvania state championship and qualification to the 2025 High School National Invite. I also played with Philadelphia SEPDA’s U20 Open team, winning the Youth Club Championship in Colorado in 2024 and finaling the same competition in 2025. I now play for Brownian Motion, continuing to both grow my skills and build connections at the collegiate level.
Each of these communities—Masterman, SEPDA, and Brown—has shaped who I am as a person and player. From the earliest stages of my participation in ultimate frisbee, the sport has combined the traditional athleticism found in aspects of soccer and football, with a newfound sense of relationship building and positive spirit. It is with great pride that, while representing the USA, I plan to carry with me the coaches, teammates, and friends who have fueled my passion for the game. This opportunity is the culmination of my love for ultimate, and I am more than ready to take my talents to the global stage.
As ultimate frisbee is still a growing sport, the cost of attending the World Championships falls largely upon individual players. I am seeking financial support to help realize my goal of playing for Team USA this summer. Each donation will help cover the cost of travel, lodging, and tournament fees, which total over $6,000. No matter how small the donation, or whether it is simply spreading the word of this GoFundMe, anything and everything is appreciated. Thank you all for your help!
