Support Owen Stromberg’s Battle Against aHUS

We are reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for your support for our beloved Owen, who has been diagnosed with Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (aHUS)—a rare and potentially life-threatening disease that affects the blood, kidneys, and immune system.

Owen is a kind, driven, and full-of-life freshman at West Chester University. He recently joined a fraternity and has a passion for lifting, health, and fitness. He’s always been dedicated to pushing himself—whether in the gym, in school, or in hockey. He loves being with friends and has fully embraced college life. But this unexpected diagnosis has placed an immense challenge in his path, one that no college student should have to face. Owen spent 12 days hospitalized at the University of Pennsylvania under the care of an amazing team of hematology and kidney specialists who were able to stabilize him and will continue to manage his long term treatment.

aHUS is a severe, chronic condition that requires ongoing specialized treatments, hospital stays, and life-saving medications. If left untreated, it can lead to serious complications such as kidney failure, blood disorders, and other life-threatening issues. Managing this rare disease comes with significant medical expenses, and our family is doing everything possible to ensure Owen gets the best care.
