Support Owen Ubersox's Critical Recovery

Dear Friends, Family, and Community of Owen Ubersox,

On the night of July 12, Owen Ubersox and his girlfriend, Makayla, were involved in a life-changing car accident and both were med-flighted from the scene of the accident to UW Madison Hospital. Owen is currently in critical condition in the intensive care unit on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma due to the incredibly saddening number of injuries he sustained from the accident. Owen's injuries include a traumatic brain injury that resulted in subdural bleeding and swelling of the brain, lacerations to his liver and spleen, a tear to his aorta artery, many broken ribs, and likely bruising of his lungs. The bruising of the lungs has forced the medical staff to administer paralytic medication to help Owen's body relax so his lungs could work better with the ventilator. While Owen has been battling for his life, the medical staff has been working relentlessly to ensure Owen receives the best medical care they can provide. The injuries he sustained are severe, and his recovery will involve intensive medical care, physical therapy, and emotional healing.

Owen's entire family has been by his side since the accident. The fear of leaving him alone with so many unknowns to come is a burden that I can't imagine. The out-of-pocket medical costs, future rehabilitation expenses, and cost for his family to be with him have been significant and are only growing more every day. So, on behalf of Owen's family, we are asking for your help to lift some of this burden.
