Help Owen Fight Rare Blood Cancer
Donación protegida
Owen is the cornerstone of our family. He’s a devoted husband and father to our three children: Cassidy, age 30, Cruz, age 9, and Selah, age 6, and has recently been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer* (See full details below). Owen is now undergoing an intense 12-18 week chemotherapy treatment plan, with additional treatment likely to be necessary. This is the beginning of a long road for our family.
Due to the rarity of his diagnosis, Owen must travel twelve hours round trip each week to Seattle, where a specialized team of oncologists are overseeing his care. The mounting medical expenses, including travel, are quickly overwhelming us, as Owen has been the sole breadwinner. We need help now more than ever.
We are overwhelmed and humbly ask for the support of anyone whose life has been touched by Owen’s kindness and friendship. Together, we can ensure he receives the care and support he needs.
Since Owen was a child, he’s always played a big role in the heart of our community—a loving husband and father, and a true friend to many.
Before settling down, Owen spent most of his adult life entrenched in the world of sports. Whether taping ankles for the U of I football team, apprenticing as a trainer for the Seattle Seahawks or living dusk till dawn on golf courses as Caddy Program Manager, he's always been in service to others. During this exciting chapter of his life, he crossed paths with so many memorable people who he still calls friends to this day.
Today, whether he’s assisting friends and clients as a realtor, coaching kids sports, skiing at Lookout Pass, organizing annual golf tournaments or picking huckleberries at sunrise, he’s always sharing his infectious positivity and wit. Owen’s kind and even keeled personality brings calm to everyone he meets. Now, it’s time for us to return that love and steadiness.

Prayers:
We ask for your prayers for Owen’s strength and healing, as well as for peace of mind for our entire family as we navigate this difficult journey.
Your support will allow our family some peace of mind from the mounting debt, so that we can focus on what truly matters: his health and healing.
Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time. We need Owen here with us and healthy! Together, we can help Owen win this fight and ease his burdens!
About Owen’s Cancer:
Owen’s Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma is referred to as Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma and it’s an extremely rare subtype called Lennert. Due to its rarity, there are no targeted treatments currently available, making this an unpredictable fight.
The fact that his cancer subtype is so rare means that how he will respond to treatment is unknown.
Owen travels weekly to Seattle to see an oncologist there who administers metronomic chemotherapy, a state-of-the-art practice which delivers chemotherapy at lower doses over a longer period of time. We chose this type of chemo in the hope that Owen could continue to do the job he loves. Patients tend to have fewer side effects with metronomic chemotherapy, and lower doses of the drugs delivered more frequently tend also to be less toxic long-term to his immune system and organs like the heart, bone marrow and liver.
Special Thanks:
We want to give a heartfelt thanks to those who have already supported us in countless ways. Owen says, “I’m fighting with everything I’ve got, and I’m so grateful for the love and support I’ve received.”
If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign with others can help spread the word and make a huge impact. From our hearts, thank you, your kindness is making a big difference for our family.
Love, Sunny, Owen, Cass, Cruz and Selah
