We’ve been supporting southwest Montana for over 25 years, with a free community magazine. We inform, entertain, and edify; we bring awareness to important local groups and issues; we promote worthy causes and events; we celebrate local heroes; and we tell the hard truths that most media shies away from (we’re looking at you, Yellowstone Club). We also give away loads of gear, apparel, swag, and guided trips, to help keep locals outfitted and ready for their next outdoor adventure.
But times are tough for independent media, with skyrocketing printing costs, delinquent advertising accounts, and a general tightening of purse strings in the outdoor industry. Help us keep O/B going strong for another 25 years, with local color, insider humor, outdoor education, fun stories from the field, expert tips & tricks, and hard-hitting journalism. Not to mention more prizes to the lucky winners of our many contests and giveaways.
To make this happen, we need to expand our operation to include more non-print delivery. In addition to growing our podcast, there's ample opportunity in social media and email marketing. Our website could use an overhaul, as well. Together, these alternative outlets will generate sufficient revenue to compensate for low print margins.
Donate to the cause and you’ll benefit both right now—As Aristotle said, virtue is its own reward—and in the afterlife, where we can put in a good word with St. Peter, a longtime O/B reader. Hallelujah!
