Dear Friends and Family,
This summer, we have been given the incredible opportunity to take part in a youth pilgrimage to Scotland and England with the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan. This journey will allow us to visit places rich with history, faith, and culture while growing spiritually and personally alongside other young people.
A pilgrimage is more than a trip. It is a chance to step away from everyday life, reflect deeply, and strengthen one’s relationship with God while learning from the stories and traditions of those who came before us. The opportunity to visit sacred sites make it a meaningful destination for this special experience.
This trip is important to us because the church is our foundation, our glue. The church is how we have learned to build community and how we have become a family. Our parents were raised at Messiah and have passed its legacy down to us. This trip offers us a chance to further our development as future leaders and community builders through strengthening our spirituality and gaining a deeper understanding of the history of our faith.
To make this pilgrimage possible, We are working to raise $6,000, which will help cover travel, lodging, meals, and program costs. We are reaching out to ask for your prayerful support and, if you are able, a financial contribution of any amount. Every gift, no .matter the size, brings us one step closer to participating in this journey.
Please know that we are deeply grateful for your encouragement, generosity, and prayers. We would love to share stories and reflections when we return.
Thank you for supporting us in this meaningful opportunity and for being part of our journey.
With gratitude,
Trinity Gavin, Serene’ Mclemore and Uriel Bath-Yahweh
