For more than 50 years, ARC, the only rescue centre in East Devon, has been there for dogs who have nowhere else to go.

Our story began in 1972, after a much-loved Golden Retriever from Sidmouth went missing and was tragically put to sleep as a stray. Two women, Mrs Shrimpton & Miss Hindley, were so heartbroken that they decided something had to change.

That decision became Sidmouth Animal Welfare Society & Animal Rescue Centre.

Since then, countless dogs have come through our doors - frightened, abandoned, elderly, unwanted, lost their owner or simply without anywhere else to turn. We give them safety, kindness, care and the chance of a new life.

Now, we need someone to be there for us.

ARC is facing an incredibly difficult time, with soaring costs. Needing more than £100,000 a year to keep the rescue running, without more support, our future looks uncertain.

We know times are tough. A small regular donation of £5, £10, £20 or a one off donation of whatever you can spare, will help immensely.
