For the last 2 years, Rachel and I have felt God calling us long-term to people groups of the post-Soviet Union. While this trip would not be long-term, it is a step in that direction. We are asking for support from family and friends to visit our friends, the Johnstons, and their church plant in Kraków, Poland. They are currently serving Ukrainian refugees among the Polish people, and you may remember that we visited them back in 2024. This year, our trip will be from April 15th to 21st. Yes, we recognize this is a fast turnaround, and we are trusting God to provide.

Our hope for this short-term trip, or "vision trip," is for our family to grow in relationship with the Johnstons as we pray about a long-term partnership with them in Kraków. We plan to spend time "shadowing" their weekly rhythms and ministries to get an idea of what being on a team with them would be like. Additionally, we want to bless the Johnston family during our time there. This could look like serving them by taking care of their two girls so that Sam and Alex could get time together, joining them in small group settings where the word of God is shared, or spending time in outreach where we share the story of Jesus.

We need partners in prayer! Pray for God to soften people's hearts, peace and unity amongst our families, discernment and wisdom, physical and spiritual protection as we travel, and provision from the Lord for the future.

In addition to prayer support, we are asking for financial partners. Our trip cost totals to $3,250. While we are prepared to cover the cost of the trip ourselves, we are inviting others to partner with us and trusting God to provide. Why support raise then? We want to invite others to pray about joining in ministry, just as the Philippians did with Paul. Throughout history, the church has prayerfully and financially supported workers going to new places with the gospel. Simply put, we don't want to go at it alone, as the models of ministry we have seen are of humble reliance on God to provide through His people.
