As the dedicated members of the
Tuckahoe Police Department celebrated and honored their fallen Officers last week during National Police Week, they unfortunately had the week conclude with an act of vandalism against the very department they represent and serve. Shortly after the annual police memorial concluded on Saturday, a 26-year-old male came to Tuckahoe Police Headquarters, armed with a bat, and destroyed decorative wreathes at the police memorial which honors past members of the department no longer alive. He then made his way to the police parking lot and destroyed a majority of the vehicle fleet. An attack on both those who had served and those still serving. An attack that many local residents are taking personally.
