We are reaching out to ask for help for our sweet boy, Rocky. He is our 2-year-old French Bulldog-Pitbull mix who we adopted this past September from a rescue center. Since the moment we brought him home, he has been nothing but love, joy, and companionship. He’s quickly become the heart of our family with his goofy personality, affectionate nature, and unwavering loyalty.

A week ago, Rocky suddenly lost the use of his hind legs. Not knowing his medical history, we first thought he might have just injured himself, but after an emergency visit to the vet and several tests later, we learned that he has a serious neurological condition. We were devastated to hear that he is paralyzed from the waist down due to a herniated disc and it’s affecting his ability to walk. Our once playful, active dog is now confined to a crate, unable to move around as he once did.

We finally saw a neurologist this week and were given the recommendation for emergency surgery. The neurologist believes that with this surgery, Rocky has the best chance (90-99%) of regaining the ability to walk again and living a full, happy life. Without it, his mobility could be permanently compromised, and we cannot bear the thought of him being in pain or not being able to enjoy the simple joys of life.

The surgery is his best chance at recovery, but it comes with a high cost. We are doing everything we can to cover the expenses, but it’s a financial strain that we cannot manage alone. That’s where we’re hoping for your kindness and support. We’ve set up this GoFundMe to help cover the cost of the MRI, anesthesia, surgery, medications, and aftercare he will need during his recovery.
