Help My Third Graders Get the Classroom They Deserve
Working in a Title I school means my students face challenges far beyond the classroom walls — and I do everything I can to make sure that once they walk through our door, they are met with an organized, safe, and welcoming space where learning feels possible.
This year, funding was cut, and we weren’t allotted our normal amount to prepare for the school year. On top of that, I was placed in a classroom originally designed for much younger students. That means we don’t have the tools we need to stay organized and keep our materials accessible — no cubbies for books and supplies, limited shelving, and a rug that’s worn and too small for our needs.
My top priority is purchasing three IKEA TROFAST cubby systems with storage bins so each student can have their own organized space for supplies. This will help keep our classroom clean, teach responsibility, and reduce distractions so students can focus on learning.
If we exceed the cubby goal, my stretch goals are:
A large, durable classroom rug for read-alouds and group activities
A low bookshelf for our classroom library to make books easily accessible and inviting
Every dollar will go directly toward creating a better learning environment for my students. With your help, we can turn this small, mismatched room into a space filled with pride, organization, and possibility.
A safe, organized classroom isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity. Your support will help make it a reality for my students.
