We are a group of engineering and computer science students from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, excited to participate in the 2025 Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC) at Oakland University, Michigan! This competition challenges students to design and build fully autonomous robots that can navigate complex, real-world environments. It is an incredible opportunity to apply our knowledge — from robotics and artificial intelligence to mechanical and electrical engineering — and to gain real-world experience that will shape our futures. Our project is mentored by Dr. Dunren Che (Professor and Chair) and Dr. Haitham Y. Adarbah (Faculty & Research Associate) from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at TAMUK. The EECS Department is committed to fostering innovation, hands-on learning, and research excellence, preparing students to lead in cutting-edge fields such as autonomous systems and artificial intelligence. For more information refer to https://www.tamuk.edu/engineering/departments/eecs/index.html Our team has been working hard for months, meeting regularly to brainstorm ideas, design our robot, and build the foundations of our project. We are using advanced technologies like LiDAR, GPS, cameras, and AI-based navigation, along with software like ROS, Python, and C++. We are determined to make a strong impact at IGVC, proudly representing our university and showcasing the power of young innovation. We Need Your Support Getting to Michigan and competing at IGVC comes with costs that we cannot cover on our own. Our expenses include travel, accommodation, registration, equipment, and daily living costs during the competition. Your support will help us: • Travel from Texas to Michigan and back • Purchase hardware, sensors, and software for the autonomous vehicle. You Can Make a Difference Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to making this dream a reality. Your support will not only help us compete but also help us grow as future engineers, innovators, and leaders in the rapidly evolving world of autonomous technology. We are committed to keeping all our supporters updated on our journey — from the building phase to the completion of our journey in Michigan. Thank you for being a part of our story!
