Support Our Teams in the Aftermath of the Delmar Tornado

Donation protected
Our hearts are heavy as we share the news of the tornado that struck the Delmar Maker District & the Central West End on May 16th. While we are immensely grateful that Steve's Hot Dogs on Delmar and The Fountain on Delmar escaped the worst of the structural damage due to our strong cinder block walls, the storm inflicted significant wounds: gas lines ripped out, electricity lines torn out, extensive roof damage and A/C units destroyed. We anticipate being closed for weeks, potentially longer, as we work to bring our spaces back to life.

This unexpected closure means our incredible staff are suddenly without work. It's a truly heartbreaking reality. We wrestled with the idea of asking for help, acutely aware that so many others are grappling with immense loss. But you know that this team believes in the power of our community, and that sometimes there's strength in asking for help.

Your support will be a lifeline for our team directly going to:

1) Our employees' wages: Ensuring our team can weather this storm with dignity and security. We will first try to offer them shifts, but will use this fund to cover any shortfall. We are going to try to keep every employee active with HuSTL while displaced if they are willing.

2) Covering the immediate, unanticipated costs of repair and recovery - of which there are many.

3) Any remainder will be donated to efforts in our neighborhood.

Thank you, from the depths of our gratitude, for standing with us.
