Who would win, three friends or a 6-foot-tall animatronic monkey?
LOGLINE
When a blundered attempt to recapture their friendship tears a hole in the fabric of space,
three friends fall into an alternate reality with a 6-foot-tall
animatronic monkey. In order to escape, they must rediscover themselves and their friendships
in order to summon a magical guitar to bash the monkey's head in.
SYNOPSIS
“George, Alex, and Olivia grew up inseparable, bound by comics, anime, and their favorite campy superhero show, Super Scouts. Now in college, they’ve drifted apart, only crossing paths again during winter break on the roof of their old middle school. But when an argument shatters the fragile reunion, reality itself cracks open, hurling them into a surreal alternate world. To find their way back, the trio must face the truth about their fractured friendship—while battling a bizarre foe from their childhood: a six-foot animatronic monkey.
THE GOAL
Made as a love letter to the things my friends and I loved. PSI is my take on a surreal action film and an attempt at the strange. By donating to our cause, you would be helping support the founding of the monkey suit, primarily the cost of LED panel eyes to allow for more fluid and emotive expressions, and the mechanisms in its head. You would also be helping us afford to film on an actual school roof and afford an Airstar light balloon to help light the scene and allow safe stunt work. Other equally important elements as well being costs for props, stunt coordinator salary, transportation, and food for our eager and hard-working crew.
WHEN CAN WE SEE IT
Filming will begin in October and will move into post-production in November. The film will be completed in the Summer of 2026 and will be limited to film festivals from Summer 2026 to Summer 2027, with showings aiming for film festivals near investors. Once the festival run is finished, the film will be released to the public on YouTube
