Support our summer theatre programme for families & adults!
Donation protected
As one of south-east London’s most loved professional (not-for-profit) theatre companies, Spontaneous Productions is seeking your support for its planned summer season of theatre for all ages.
Despite efforts to secure funding from the Postcode Lottery, we are in urgent need of £5000 to deliver two exciting events for the community:
First up will be Sydenham’s Big Cat Safari (25-27 July) - a FREE* walkabout street theatre event for all ages, leading the audience around the back streets of Sydenham in search of the legendary big cat, first spotted in 2005 and making the national news at the time!
(*cash and card donations from those attending the event on the day, and who can afford to give something, will be very welcome. As you might imagine ticketing an event like this would be next to impossible!)
Then, later in September - and to mark Jane Austen’s 250th birthday this year - we will be collaborating with Kirkdale Bookshop to stage The Complete Works of Jane Austen in 90 Minutes, at St Bart’s Church, Sydenham, on Fri 5 & Sat 6 September.
This highly entertaining show adapts all six of her beloved novels in short, comic form and will feature many fabulous regular Spontaneous performers in full period costume.
In order for these events to go ahead - and that meet the high standards that our audiences have come to expect - we need a significant injection of cash from our supporters.
While we do intend to make further funding bids in the near future, your support right now can help us meet immediate costs such as:
Publicity design and printing
Performer fees
Costume design
Props and scenery
Venue hire charges
Overheads such as insurance, website management etc
We look forward to seeing you at these events, with your generous support!
