Our sisters and and brothers in the PCT substitute unit need our help.  With the recent and sudden closure of schools, they have been dealt an unexpected financial blow.   As individuals and as a  unit we have always sought to celebrate our colleagues in good times and assist them during difficult times.   So often during the year, we pass around an envelope to assist  with or celebrate a significant event in the lives of our work family.  Due to the inconsistent nature of a substitute's work, I  now realize that we rarely do that  for them. We can help to fix that here.  Our colleagues need us.  We are fortunate that we are still able to receive a check as well as our healthcare benefits.  We all understand the value of our unity, and how important it is to support each other through these unprecedented times.  Our subs are there for us throughout the year.  In addition to the hard work they do, they provide us with peace of mind knowing that our students are taken care of.  
While there is no price that can be put on the value of the substitutes to us, we are asking for a contribution of $25.00.  We are aware that everyone's financial situation is different,  any amount more or less is appreciated.
