We need your help to give our young scholars the opportunity of a lifetime! We’re raising $12,000 to send students from the Step Up Girls and Next Generation Boys programs at the Thomas H. Slater Center on the Lower Hudson Valley Diamond Foundation NRWP 2025 HBCU College Tour—and we can’t do it without you! Any donation, big or small, will make a lasting impact on the lives of our youth.

About the Thomas H. Slater Center

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life and unlock the potential of those we serve by providing essential tools, resources, and programs for success. We are dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing environment where our young people can grow, learn, and thrive.

Why This Matters

As part of our commitment to education and empowerment, we are leading a group of students on an educational tour—the Lower Hudson Valley Diamond Foundation NRWP 2025 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Tour.

For 17 years, Step Up Girls has guided high school girls, and for 7 years, Next Generation Boys has done the same for young men. College tours are a crucial part of these programs, giving students a firsthand look at campus life, travel experiences, and the opportunity to apply to colleges on the spot. Many of our students have been accepted to schools they first visited through this program!

2025 College Tour Details

Dates: Sunday, April 13 – Friday, April 18, 2025

Visiting 9 HBCUs:

✅ Tennessee State University

✅ Fisk University

✅ Meharry Medical College

✅ Bennett College

✅ North Carolina A&T State University

✅ Shaw University

✅ Saint Augustine’s University

✅ Morgan State University

✅ Coppin State University

Our Goal: $12,000 – Every Dollar Counts!

It costs $800 per student, covering:

✅ Transportation

✅ Hotel accommodations

✅ Breakfast & lunch

✅ Special outings

Your donation makes a direct impact:

$25 – Provides meals for a student

$50 – Covers one night of lodging

$100 – Funds transportation for a day

$800 – Fully sponsors a student!
