Our sister, Krystina, is currently facing an incredibly challenging time in her life. She has been diagnosed with a rare red blood cell condition called Methemoglobinemia and a possible diagnosis of G6PD deficiency, which recurs and takes significant time to recover from. Corrective treatments have caused her body to go through continued hemolysis, resulting in hemolytic anemia. Over the past 4 months, she has been admitted to the hospital more than 8 times requiring 2 methylene blue infusions, a red blood cell exchange (also called erythrocytapheresis, requiring the use of a dialysis port in her neck) , a blood transfusion, and multiple vitimin C infusions. These frequent and recurring hospitalizations have made it impossible for her to work, and as a result, she is struggling to pay her medical bills, rent, utilities, and other essential expenses. Despite undergoing some genetic testing, doctors still do not know what is triggering these episodes, and she has more tests ahead.

The financial burden has added a tremendous amount of stress to an already difficult situation.
