Dear sisters, family, and friends,

I have been given permission by our dear sister to reach out and raise the much needed support we will need to get our Gem set up in her new life in the Kootenays.

For many years, we have talked about living life here in Nelson, BC together. As many of you know, Gem lives with many physical challenges, and chronic pain, which is amplified every year through the harsh Alberta winters.

Last year, she came very close to her goal of moving to this warmer climate. We had found her a camper to transform into a tiny home for her, and a plot of land with great neighbors. But alas, the time and financial crunch was realized to be out of reach, and so she was left to live yet another winter in Alberta, struggling with the costs and affects of the cold and the city, on her body and spirit.

Now, here we are, one year later. Gem has spent this past year downsizing her belongings, making all the timely preparations to shifting her life out of Alberta, and has officially moved out of her apartment, put the rest of her belongings in storage, and is now getting ready for the final push in her journey to her new magical home, with her bestie (me! Auryelle/ Via). Within her own tiny palace, in the forest, on the mountain top, overlooking the lake, where she can know peace & care, in a more supportive environment for her body and soul moving forward. But this last step is a BIG ONE, and we really need your help.

Come the week of August 15th, we will be packing Gems final belongings and equipment needed for her new tiny home, into a rental truck, which we will haul from Edmonton, AB to Nelson, BC. I have been working hard to renovate our old camper, using re-use materials, new thicker insulation, and a new layout, to make it the cozy, functional oasis that our friend deserves. It is a big undertaking but I know that we can get it done, and with your help, we can get Gem here and living comfortably with everything she needs. Any support you can give will go a long way!

Lets give Gem the fresh new start she deserves, to help her get to her long dreamt healing destination, and to have a space with the simple things she needs to stay healthy and functional. These are the items that we are needing to complete her new space and approximate costs. While renovating the 'tiny home' camper for Gem's arrival, we are finding discounted and re-use, and pre-owned items wherever we can. Some of these items can be purchased over the next few months leading into winter. But the most immediate needs are getting Gem a proper fridge, so she can have no disruptions, and find ease in her food routines. Also in help to pay the RV Tech to come and make sure that all of the electrical and propane systems are set up safely and efficiently.

We thank all of you for being in our lives, for loving our Gem so much, as she has inspired us all with her strength, wisdom, and fierce authenticity. Sharing and moving us with her journey, her art, and her love. She has always been an incredible sister, for all the years she was in support in our communities.
