Hello, I'm Josh. I'm an animator and film maker from Perth. I have recently finished making this short animated documentary about my friend, Chris Ramsey.

In late 2021, at the age of 36, Chris was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. It was a huge shock. Not knowing what to do, I proposed that we document his journey. I wanted to make something with him that pulled some positive out of all the negative, and in his own terms, to try to make some sense of it.

This film is created from the many recorded conversations we had over the years, in which he takes us through his treatment, the emotional ups and downs, lifestyle changes and confronting his future.

Chris sadly passed away in October 2025. I am very proud of what we made together, and now it's time to share his story.

This is where you come in. I have set my sights on a large film festival run and am looking for help to raise funds for the submission fees. The first premiere festivals in sight will be Venice International Film Festival and Locarno Film Festival. The deadline being the 23 April. I will be applying for these two first as they are most exclusive, but then will be continuing on with smaller festivals.

Any amount will help get our project screened. If there is any excess amount left after the submission fees, it will be donated on your behalf to cancer research.
