Support Our Shelter's Flood Recovery Efforts
Tax deductible
On the afternoon of June 18, our shelter suffered a flood caused by massive rainfall in our area. The storm drains backed up and into our building, and in a matter of minutes, every single room was filled with water.
Amazingly, we were able to move over 50 animals to safety in temporary foster homes within a matter of hours. Dozens of volunteers showed up to help remove water, and then our flood restoration wizards arrived.
Devastation hit even harder this morning when we found out our insurance only covers "certain water damages," and our situation does not qualify for coverage. Our claim was denied, leaving us with tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment, supplies, food, and furniture to replace on our own as a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We are devastated and overwhelmed, and we need help more than ever to rebuild and restock our shelter out of pocket.
