Support Our Resilient Asheville Team Recovery

Hi all! My name is Tyler Coon, founder of Savvy STR Agents. Recently, our team has experienced some devsatstion here in Western NC due to Hurricane Helene.

First and foremost I want to assure folks that myself and my family our fine. We have some trees down, some cleanup to do, our house will likely be without water for a few weeks... but overall we are fine.

This fundraiser is to help provide assistance to our support staff here in Asheville... let me tell you about them and what they've been through:

Elana Eirhart - Our director of operations Elana made it out of her town Fairview with her children through rushing waters. On their way out of their neighborhood, Elana and her family helped rescue another family who was stranded in floodwaters in a tree. Elana sustained minor property damage but will likely be without water in her home for her family for a few weeks as she is connected to city water.

Grace Rivera - Asheville buyers agent Grace Rivera lives in Canton which was devastated by flooding two years ago. With her three children and husband Joel, they fled their home for higher ground late Friday into Saturday. Staying in Asheville, they ended up in an Airbnb that had no power and water the next day, and had to fight to try to get out of Asheville with little to no gas and get out of town. Leaving her children with her mother in Greensboro NC, they went back home only to find their newly finished basement with 2-3 feet of water. They immediately went to work to ensure a healthy home for their three children and are still dealing with this today.

Olivia Mason - Olivia just recently moved to Asheville and joined our team. Her roommate left their home and left their pets with Olivia and did not end up making it back, so Olivia has been without power, water, food, or cell service staying in Asheville (when she could leave) to ensure the dogs and cat had somewhere to be that was safe. She is still in Asheville but without work for the time being.

Jordan Shaulis - A UNCA student who works as our Listing Manager, Jordan had no power, water, internet or additional food for three days. Finally, when one of our team from SC made it up with 35 gallons of gas, he took 7.5 gallons... and rather than making his way out of town like so many others would have, he spent his resources going to check on friends and family, ensuring they had food, water, and gas to get out. Jordan is still in Asheville because he used his resources for the local community vs getting out.

Scott Asbell - Thankfully, Scott was already out of town during Helene and fared well. His home and belongings are still in good shape, and Scott is back to work assisting our clients and expansion team. He is stepping in to ensure the company continues running as much as possible outside Asheville so everyone has a job to come back to when they feel ready.

Our team came together in the aftermath of Helene to start organizing resources and property checks for all of our current and past clients. This, combined with our clients outreach, warmed my heart to see. My clients mean the world to me, and I knew I would do whatever I could to help... it was amazing to see my team step up as well.

Our team is certainly one of the luckier groups of people in Western NC. Many have had it worse... And... our amazing clients have still asked how they can contribute. Your donations will go directly to the Savvy STR Agents support staff and team in Asheville and assist in rebuilding anything that was lost in the storm, renting other accommodations while they wait for utilities to come back to life (namely water, for anyone who has city water), and bare necessities during the aftermath.
