Help us GROW!

The year 2020 has left us with a lot of unknowns, a bit of fear and the need to recreate our lives from what we’ve always known.  We’ve chosen to view the COVID pandemic as an opportunity to look outside of the box, to reevaluate the needs of our children and also the children in our community.

We believe in the benefit of kids learning in a natural environment and started to envision our outdoor space, which consists of a beautiful wooded acre with access to the Cocheco River, and is situated just a mile from downtown Dover, as an educational oasis.

We had a vision, blending city living and the outdoors. We found ourselves connected with three amazingly qualified educators, experienced in public school and in outdoor learning.  One simple conversation has blossomed into an incredible educational vision. With a little outreach, we now have a group of thirteen children, grades k-3, to participate in a year of homeschool exploration and growth. We know this team of rock star teachers and community of like minded parents are exactly what our kids need.  We are excited to create an opportunity for them to learn, unmasked, outside the confines of hundreds of kids and public mandates.  We are excited to take away some of the stress and fear that has landed in these little laps and instead create an opportunity outdoors for the educational, emotional and social support that our kids are craving.

Our official year of learning has begun and we are asking for support to keep us soaring.

As many of you know our initial vision for a yurt was a lofty goal in the time allotted.  While this is still our ultimate goal,  unfortunately it will not be able to happen this fall.  Like anything, a new vision takes constant assessment and the willingness to shift .  So, that is exactly what we are doing.

Wild Tides Collaborative has unfolded and as we assess the needs of our kiddos and our space, we have decided that for less money, we can find a solution to meet the spacial need as well as a larger vision for programming and support.  Our plan is to work with the space we have, insulating and heating our garage which is currently serving as our main classroom space.   We will also use additional funds to enhance our music and arts programming.  We have some incredible volunteers who have joined our little community of learners, but we hope to be able to provide more materials and high quality instruction.

For those of you who have already shown support and love, who have cheered us on, provided materials or ideas, volunteered, and/or supported us monetarily, we can't thank you enough.    We know, without reservation, that this vision is exactly what our kids and community need right now and are so thankful for support in allowing this program and vision to grow.

Thank you so much in advance for any support you can provide.  Even the toughest of times have the ability to produce the most positive outcomes.
