Our niece is going through something no one should ever have to face. Last year, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, which led to major surgery and months of chemotherapy. Just when we thought she was finally on the road to recovery, she received another devastating diagnosis: rectal cancer. She recently underwent another difficult surgery, one that required her rectum to be disconnected, and now she must wait months before doctors can determine the next steps in her treatment.
During this time, she is unable to work, unable to care for herself fully, and unable to live the life she once had. Although she has government insurance, it does not cover the essential supplies, medical needs, or daily assistance required for her recovery. She lives alone, and while family members try to help when they can, most of us live far away and cannot be there consistently. This has left her in a desperate and vulnerable situation. Because she cannot care for herself, she often has no choice but to go to the hospital for help with basic needs. Each visit requires someone to take her, and she has no reliable support system nearby. The emotional, physical, and financial toll has become overwhelming.
We are asking for help to cover medical supplies not covered by insurance, transportation to and from medical appointments, in-home assistance and basic daily care, and essential living expenses while she is unable to work. Any amount—no matter how small—will make a real difference in her life. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser is also a huge help. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read her story and for supporting her during the hardest chapter of her life. Your kindness means more than you know.
