Support Our Neighbors after Tragic Losses
Donation protected
Please help support our dear neighbors who have been struck by deep tragedy the last few years, and most recently in a terrible hit and run accident that killed their dog, just right outside our building.
The event last night
Our neighbor was outside with his dog on their routine nighttime walk. While crossing the street, a car was speeding severely and hit his dog, and almost struck him as well. A kind neighbor drove with them to the emergency vet, but his dog did not make it and passed away. The trauma from not only losing your pet coupled with being present for such a terrifying incident-is unbearable and requires a lot of support from our community.
Why this fundraiser is necessary
Our neighbors have been dealt a raw hand the last few years. In addition to the financial insecurity that all of us have faced from the rising costs in our building, they have dealt with:
- The untimely death of their child, as well as another family member
- Their dog was actually a family member's dog that had passed away, that they took in out of love for their family member and the dog
- An attack on our neighbor in the parking lot requiring medical surgical intervention
- A non-working kitchen with serious deformity for an extended period of time, which insurance has refused to pay for
- serious emergent medical event in their family requiring an extended healing process
- and now their dog being killed in a hit and run accident
With all of these things considered at once, it is clear that our neighbors need support, especially since they have been impacted by many of these events within proximity to their, and our, home space.
Our Goal
To help cover some home expenses for even a couple months to take a little pressure off and hopefully allow our neighbors to do something nice for themselves during this devastating time.
Every penny earned from this fundraiser will go directly to our neighbor to support them through this tragedy.
