Neighbors of Como Park in Saint Paul, MN, are coming together to support La Morelense, a local restaurant impacted by the recent ICE presence in the area. Located at Como Ave and Snelling Ave, the owner made the difficult decision to temporarily close in order to prioritize the physical and psychological safety of their staff and guests.

Because they are unable to offer dine-in or takeout service during this time, the restaurant is currently without income—putting rent and the future of the business at risk. La Morelense has provided the neighborhood with great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a strong sense of community. We want to help ensure they can reopen and continue serving the neighborhood once it is safe to do so.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 to cover the restaurant’s February 2026 rent. Once this need is met, the GoFundMe will be paused, as the owner and staff of La Morelense are committed to paying this support forward and encouraging the neighborhood to continue supporting other minority-owned businesses in the area.
